The Start-up Visa program is for people who have the skills and potential to create an innovative, globally competitive and job-creating business.
One must meet the five criteria below to be eligible,
Have obtained a letter of support from a Designated Organization by the Government of Canada
Meet the minimum language requirements, in French or English.
Have enough money to settle in Canada for the first few months.
Have the intention to settle in a province other than the province of Quebec.
Successful candidates are not required to invest their own money in the business and can have a temporary work permit while waiting to obtain permanent residence. They can also benefit from the advice and funds offered by private sector organizations in Canada in order to successfully operate their business in Canada. Applicants do not lose permanent residency if the business fails.
A maximum of 5 people can apply for the business start-up program as the owner of the business.
