Through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, the Government of Canada is working with small, remote communities in Ontario, Western Canada and the three territories to attract and retain skilled foreign workers.
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program is community-driven, which means that participating communities take the initiative to attract new immigrants who meet their needs, that they also ensure that they known as communities that are welcoming and that they connect newcomers with members who are already well established there as well as raise awareness of local settlement services.
